Paul Comerford was born in 1956, a product of Irish and West Country genes. His life’s passions include literature, poetry, distance running, travel, mountains, rocks, beasts and plants. He has a 2:49:15 marathon PB and has climbed above 6000m in the Himalaya. On a journey in his father’s footsteps to India in 2011, he was inspired to write his first novel, Mr Gupta goes to the Sea. Paul is a father and grandfather and lives near the sea in West Sussex.

There is great strength in laughter; greater strength in being able to laugh at yourself. The heroes in my books laugh a lot.
